We support the communities in which we live and do business. Employees on our "Giving Back Committee" volunteer to coordinate our community involvement company-wide throughout the year.
ESG has a strong sense of giving back to the community and initiated its “Giving Back Committee” back in 2003 where employees volunteer their time to come up with and head several giving back projects throughout the year. Most recently, several projects have involved fundraising to where employees bake and sell snacks and meals to coworkers to collect funds for to the MS Walk, Daffodil Days, Making Strides Against Cancer, and other non-profit causes. ESG also hosts several blood drives on a regular basis throughout the year. During the holiday season, employees submit names of families that need assistance for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. Employees are encouraged to donate what they can, either from a sign-up list of food items or an ornament off the Giving Tree for Christmas gifts. ESG picks up the remaining items that these families-in-need have requested.
ESG compensates employees for time spent during regular work hours to donate their talents to the Giving Back cause, from tying quilts at lunch to shopping for needy families at Christmastime.
Over the years, ESG employees have donated blankets, towels, hats, gloves, suits, and coats to the Road Home to help those who are homeless; sent several employees to Haiti and Mexico with a non-profit group where they labored at orphanages doing cinder block and mortar work, stucco, and painting; assisted the American Heritage School with purchasing needed school supplies; volunteered at the Summer Special Olympics; made over 60 quilts for “Project Linus” where homemade blankets and quilts were donated to local hospitals and social services to comfort traumatized children; helped build homes as part of Habitat for Humanity; taught American Work Culture classes to Sudanese refugees; and sponsored over 100 families for Christmas and Thanksgiving.
